The Story: The South Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s educational series became a mainstay within the community soon after the first seminars were held in 2010. The Entrepreneur Empowerment Series seeks to facilitate new and small business owners as well as people considering starting a business the practical knowledge needed to open a business in South Carolina. Because the Chamber believes in serving the community as a whole, the Series was expanded in 2011 to include business development seminars in English and Spanish as well as other supplemental courses including commercial English courses and Department of Labor seminars. One crucial aspect missing from this program was an identity that would allow for long term growth in the community that the Chamber serves.
The Solution: UniComm Media Group developed a brand identity that communicates the goals of the Empowerment Series. A bold design whose colors are representative of the SCHCC’s own corporate colors comes together to form one of the universally-recognized symbols of academics: the book. The two Es that make up the book design are taken from the “Entrepreneur” and “Empowerment” parts of the name of the series.
